    Description

1950s professional grade 19" Keyboard Crucianelli 41/120 LMH Accordion
This is a super nice accordion with hand cut/hand made reeds that are very responsive and provide a full balanced tone loud or soft. That puts it ahead of just about any LMH box I have played to date. It has good straps the hook system for the cross back strap so you can hold the instrument tightly and do Lovello style bellows shakes.
19" keyboard LMH piano side 7 shifts and 2 on bass side. Thinner than my 'kissing cousin' 1952 pancordion. In fact pancordions were made in the USA and took on an italian affiliate - hence the crucianelli and its virtually identical look and function of a pancordion.
Another nice feature are the 'magic beans' as I call them or the bass reed indicators which are two small covered white buttons. The indicate which reeds are selected. Being a 3/4 box the bass side always has the high reed on and the shifts are reverisables. One controls the tuba reed and one controls the medium/clarinet reed. This means with the bass shifts (sort of like an Accordionola) you can have high, high medium, high low, or high medium and low. Really compliments and balances the LMH reeds on the piano side. I found myself playing high low most of the time or high medium and saving 'master' for the louder chorus and finish.
While the paddles on the piano side are not marked the ones on top are high medium and low and on the 2nd column they are the combinations of those reeds and the big paddle is master (no palm master). The big paddles make it pretty easy to select which sound you want.
Of course people gas on about how wonderful a box is or that their brother in law's cousin's dog gave it a seal of approval, but a demonstration where you can watch the bellows to see how air tight the instrument is and the thing being played loud or soft speaks volumes more than any description I can provide. Rarely have I bought an accordion that did not have a demo video, but if it was a really interesting instrument then I would rewax and change leather valves, bellows gasket, rework the action and level the keys. If someone is not an accordion player, well, you have to know what to look forward since 'plays great' doesn't mean much. What is their standard?
Speaking of the keys - as you can see they are level on this instrument - that indicates that the pallets and pallet valves (on the end of the piano keys) which let air in/out are in good shape. Those that are flattened by age or eaten by book worms tend to be all over the place.
These demos are important so you can review tuning, action and bellows/wind efficiency otherwise you have no idea what you are getting.
