Up for sale is a brand new compact size (1" x 2" x 3" or 24 x 48 x75mm) digital thermometer, pyrometer for Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT) monitoring. I
t can be powered directly by the car battery (12 VDC).
Its bright LED display is easy to read from a distance as compared with many dim LCD type digital thermometers. The programmable alarm will turn on a blue LED in the front panel to get driver's attention if the temperature is above the setting point. It will also close a relay output port that can be used to turn on a buzzer, shut off the fuel, or turn on a cooling fan. The meter stores the peak temperature with time that can be checked later (same as the Recall function of other brand). It can also operate in the peak holding mode so that only the maximum temperature is displayed.  The meter will accept all EGT sensors on the market and display the temperature in either Celsius or Fahrenheit.
The brightness of LED display can be synchronized with headlights. When the headlight is turned on at night, the display will be dimmed by the illumination signal. It can also be dimmed directly on the keypad.
This meter has the analog output option (also called
re-transmit
). It will output the display reading as a linear analog signal for data logger or data acquisition system. The output can be set to either 0 - 20 mA or 4 - 20 mA current. It can also be converted to voltage output with a 1% precision resistor.
In addition to the EGT monitoring, this meter can also be used on many other control applications for car, RV and boat where 12 VDC power supply is used. Unlike most EGT meters on the market, this meter is developed based on a industrial grade precision temperature controller with a very powerful microprocessor. It offers much higher precision than meters designed for automobile application only.  It accepts 19 different types input signals that cover almost all sensors, transducers used in the automobile market. It has the ability to store not only maximum but also minimum value and its occurrence time.
This meter can also be used for controlling the thermoelectric cooling device in a CCD camera box.
